Carl joined Choice Point in early 2017, with a background in producing high quality films. Carl brings a fresh and original approach to film-making and is the writer, producer and director behind short film/TV pilot “The Interrogation of Olivia Donovan“.

The physiological thriller follows child psychologist Sarah Hardy (Eva Pope) and Detective Stephen Watkins (Cristian Solimeno) as they set out in the hope of finding a missing schoolgirl. The film took part in a special screening at Bafta 195 and received the Jury Special Mention for Outstanding UK Film at Manchester Film Festival in 2017 and Nominations for Eva Pope (best supporting actress) at the California Women’s Film Festival in Hollywood. It also received Nominations for Best Short film and best supporting actress for Ellie Paskell at the Romford film festival.

Carl is currently working to direct 4 independent features that will enter pre-production in late 2018. Psychological themes are extremely important to Carl’s film making and are why he feels such a synergy with the mission of Choice Point Productions.

Outside of writing and directing, Carl is the CEO and Founder of the Chelmsford Film Festival, which focuses on showcasing the world’s best films while inspiring the next generation of film makers within the area.  This has led to Carl working closely with Colleges Chelmsford and Braintree to help develop the Film and TV production students.  He has given multiple lectures and in 2018, became official sponsor of the new Chelmsford Film Festival Suite at Braintree college.
